FCAT Administration

Student have not historically been permitted to have electronic devices in their possession during testing. However, there has previously been some     flexibility regarding the policy, which stated that violation may result in test  invalidation. Due to concerns based on recent security violations involving   camera phones, the policy has been revised to state that violations will result in test invalidation. If your child is found with an electronic device that reproduces, transmit, calculates, or records (e.g., a cell phone, camera, or pager) in his or her pocket, at his or her desk, or within his or her reach    during testing, the test will be invalidated.

In accordance with the ruling on electronic devises during testing, on test dates, we will be asking students to leave all electronic devices with the teacher prior to      entering the designated testing area.  All devices will be returned to students at the   conclusion of testing each day.

As always, it is our goal to keep you informed as to how you can best support your students to maximize their performance on the FCAT. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school’s guidance office.

At this time of year we ask our teachers, parents, and students to   respond to a survey. The surveys are intended to target specific school     related services at Anderson Middle School. Your response to each item will provide important information that will be considered for school improvement.  Please take time to consider each statement and use the enclosed special response form for your answers and comments. Please be sure not to fold the response form and remember to use a number 2 pencil.  The    response sheet does not need to be signed.  The response sheet should be returned to your child’s first period teacher by March 9. If you have more than one student attending AMS, please only complete one survey.
